Alvin’s love for food and cooking grew from his mother’s kitchen at a tender age. Coming from a Shanghainese and Teochew family background, Alvin’s fondest childhood memories of food were his mom’s handmade Shanghainese wontons and his grandma’s signature Teochew¬†fun guo.
Alvin grew up in Hong Kong and spent many years studying in the US. Throughout the past decade, work and personal travels have taken Alvin to all corners of the world. His favorite activities when traveling? Wandering, feasting on local eats, sketching, and picking up the local dialect (usually food related). Back at home in Hong Kong, when not testing new recipes, Alvin is usually found sharing his passion for food, travel, and his native Hong Kong with fellow foodies as a Foodie Guide!
